COFFEE BACKGROUND

Timespan is our way of bridging old and new: an older approach to highlighting roast characteristics in the cup while maintaining more modern ethics of sourcing and transparency. Sourced with the same intentionality and traceability as all of our offerings, this coffee is more developed in the roaster, creating a familiar and roasty flavor profile.

It’s true that some dark roast options on the market use roast level to mask the flaws inherent in lower quality coffees. Our approach is the opposite: we start with an intentionally sourced, high quality coffee that features muted acidity and plenty of sweetness. The same coffee often appears on our single-origin menu or as part of our blends. To create Timespan, we intentionally lengthen the roast to more deeply caramelize the coffee’s natural sugars — preserving its balanced structure while highlighting sweetness and body. The result is a smooth, rich, and full-bodied cup that reminds us of a fine dark chocolate bar.

Timespan makes a great introduction to specialty coffee, and it’s an excellent option for seasoned specialty fans looking for a bolder cup that’s smooth and easy to enjoy. This coffee is delicious on its own, but a little sugar or a splash of cream are excellent complements to its rich flavor.

The coffees used in our blends changes seasonally. To learn more about the coffees and blend ratios, visit our blends page.
