Drift Magazine covers coffee culture city by city. It landed at an important time in specialty coffee’s rise. It was the point when coffee many consumers were feeling coffee was too exclusive. Drift provided a glance into the coffee culture of one city at a time. It addresses specialty and non-specialty coffee traditions of the cities it covers.

Cities/areas covered in the past include Tokyo, New York City, Havana, Melbourne, Mexico City, Stockholm, San Francisco, London, and Bali. Our favorite features often cover the bodegas or coffee stands that have been serving coffee for over four decades. The magazine gives a glance into the lives of coffee professionals we know from Sprudge, as well, but the features usually cover something more unique to that person’s history in a city rather than their international coffee clout.

We try to identify places in St. Louis using the same spirit, but often those beyond coffee, in our blog series titled STLxBPC. It’s hard to do this in an online format as beautifully as Drift Magazine does it covering coffee, yet we can hope. The large format, heavy paper, and beautiful photography make Drift a joy just to hold.
