Jordan Espy has been a dedicated member of the Blueprint team for quite some time. He currently serves as a barista at the Watson location.
WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT THE CAFÉ, AND WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE JOB?
I am a barista. The best thing about my job is my coworkers and our regulars. The best days in the cafe include delicious coffee, good music, and familiar faces, all of which can't happen without them.
WHAT PROMPTED YOUR INTEREST IN COFFEE?
A lot of the credit goes to the Blueprint Team. Honestly, before joining, I was mostly unfamiliar with the immense amount of work behind a really good cup of coffee. It was through my experience and education with Blueprint that I found the work to be really special.
IF YOU COULD ENJOY A CUP OF COFFEE WITH ANYONE IN THE WORLD, WHO WOULD IT BE?
I’d love a sit down with Danny DeVito; that man is a national treasure.
WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO COFFEE ORDER AT BLUEPRINT?
Espresso or cold brew.
WHAT ARE YOUR PASSIONS OUTSIDE OF COFFEE?
Quality time with friends and family, rock climbing, amateur photography. I’m a homebody at heart though; game nights or binging horror movies is standard stuff for me.
HOPES, DREAMS, DESIRES FOR THE FUTURE?
I’d like to build a life and community here in Saint Louis. I would also like to get back into the production side of things or maybe merge my coffee experience and Anthropology degree to get involved in green buying one day. Outside of that, I’d like to own an RV and take trips with my dog to National Parks as often as possible. Fun fact: I’m also a licensed appraiser.
