WHAT PROMPTED YOUR INTEREST IN COFFEE?

I’ve been interested in coffee since my friend in high school took me to get my first ever latte at Blueprint’s Delmar cafe in 2018. Later I became a regular at our Watson cafe, where I ordered an iced vanilla latte every day (sometimes even twice a day). The community and enthusiastic employees at Watson started my real interest in specialty coffee. Finally, I started working at High Low in 2024.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB?

My absolute favorite part of the job is connecting with our customers. I love when I get to make someone their favorite drink. It makes me genuinely happy to see how excited some people are to be here. It’s nice getting to provide a positive experience for others.

WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT THE HIGH LOW COMMUNITY?

At High Low we get so many artists that come into the cafe. It’s really cool chatting with the creatives in the area.

WHAT DO YOU WISH MORE CONSUMERS KNEW ABOUT COFFEE?

I wish more people realized how much human effort goes into the coffee they are served. Before we even get the beans they have gone through such a journey and so many hands. The Seed to Cupping class changed my perception of coffee and its processes.

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO DRINK ORDER AT BLUEPRINT? OTHER CAFÉS?

At Blueprint, an iced vanilla cappuccino! When I try a new shop I typically go for a cortado.

WHAT ARE YOUR PASSIONS AND INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF COFFEE?

On my days off I really enjoy spending time in nature by going on hikes. I also love experiencing live music! I travel for my favorite bands as much as I can. Recently, I had an amazing time traveling to Chicago to see My Chemical Romance.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO GO OR THING TO DO IN ST. LOUIS?

I love to picnic with my sister by the lily pond in Tower Grove Park. I also enjoy journaling on the patio at Watson.

WHAT ALBUM WOULD YOU BRING TO A DESERT ISLAND?

OK Computer — my all time favorite album.
