HAND-BREWED COFFEE TRAINING
This practical and hands-on hand-brewed coffee training teaches attendees how to brew drip coffee using a manual (“pour-over”) device in communion with a commercial burr grinder. To start, the trainer gives an introduction to how the equipment works. Then, the trainer introduces brew recipes and proper preparation of coffee to attendees. Attendees will have opportunities to brew cups of coffee on the brewing devices used at their establishment with the help and advice of the trainer.
The trainer gives a basic introduction of strength and extraction. In addition, they cover how these qualities of a coffee are used during wholesale QC visits. Attendees will taste through an exercise to help illustrate these qualities. Therefore, the science of brewing becomes much more practical. Lastly, the group will discuss troubleshooting, cleaning, and maintenance of the equipment.
This class focuses on brewing with the Hario v60. However, the trainer will cater to other methods of hand-brewing when appropriate or requested. Please submit requests for specific brewing method instruction to your wholesale representative before the class.
