Calibration Cupping (2hr)
This tasting-focused course immerses baristas in three consecutive tasting experiences designed the strengthen and calibrate the tasting language used by baristas. Baristas start by cupping a small group of coffees. Then, the SCA Coffee Taster’s Wheel is introduced along with a tasting of some of the taste references used on the wheel prepared to spec from the SCA Flavor and Aroma lexicon. The coffees are then recupped along with the tasting wheel. The session concludes with a group discussion and calibrating using the flavor wheel.
Required for: all lead baristas/managers serving Blueprint Coffee
Prerequisites: Seed to Cupping & the equivalent of 6-months of full-time work as a barista
