“Beauty in Precision” – A film about Blueprint Coffee in Saint Louis

BLUEPRINT COFFEE, A SPECIALTY ROASTER AND COFFEE BAR IN SAINT LOUIS

Blueprint Coffee in Saint Louis opened its doors in September of 2013. Immediately, the city and Delmar Loop community greeted it warmly. The founding partners, Nora Brady, Brian Levine, Mike Marquard, Mazi Razani, Kevin Reddy, and Andrew Timko regularly worked shifts behind the bar and built relationships with stakeholders in the food and greater community.

In the spring of 2014, one of these stakeholders and a friend, Andy Koh, approached the members with an Idea. Koh asked if he could make a short movie about Blueprint. Immediately, they said, “Yeah. Sure. Why not?”

Over the next few months, Koh, with the collaboration of Marcus Stabenow, captured the experience of Blueprint Coffee in Saint Louis. They did so in a visually-stunning movie. As a result, this work with Marcus Stabenow created a long-lasting relationship between Blueprint and Stabenow's creative agency, Visitor Assembly. The companies still work together on visual and media projects.

BEAUTY IN PRECISION

Beauty in precision exists as a guiding ideal for Blueprint Coffee. Before designing the coffee bar on Delmar, the members held countless meetings to establish the aesthetic and approach of Blueprint. As a result, they identified Intentionality and design stand as integral components of decision making and the physical spaces of Blueprint. Additionally, Blueprint holds intentionality as one of the three pillars of Specialty Coffee. From this intentional design, or precision, the members find beauty. Therefore, the phrase beauty in precision became embedded in the ethos of Blueprint.
